I am absolutely thrilled and honored to be one of the Flatirons interns this year. Since being introduced to this church through Controlled Chaos as a middle schooler in 2010, I have always wanted to dive a little deeper and experience church ministry myself. There is no better fit than spiritual formation--becoming more like Jesus and living life in the freedom He offers is something I feel very passionate about. The mens and womens weekend and group experiences offered have profoundly shifted my own life and the lives of many whom I love.

This work seeks to aid in the process of becoming more like Jesus through growth and community. In the end, we hope that our lives look very different than the life we lived before (Matthew 7:24-25, Romans 6:4). Men and women are able to join an initial group (a formation group) to learn about more tools in their toolkit of life, then can choose to continue in an ongoing group or join others on a weekend away. It is not "easy" work, but no transformation happens in the easy! It aims to go a little deeper, ask the harder questions, and bring freedom and redemption to dark places of our lives.
I am looking forward to this journey of continually growing in my own abilities and awareness, as well as having the opportunity to link arms with others who are getting to experience it themselves! I very much believe that the Lord is using this work to heal many in not only our church community, but communities everywhere. His ability to transform lives through this work is not bound by what we do; He leads people to this work (like He did with me!).
